I struggle with always doing, too, but some part of us needs quiet, reflection, relaxation, appreciation of the good times... if you can appreciate them yourself and even manage to teach your kids the value of the little beauties of life (like milkshakes and beach walks), you will have succeeded in very profound ways. No matter what any judgmental busybody who happens to see you might think. :) I happen to think that spending your days with your kids, indoor and out, is one of the noblest and most beautiful things you could possibly do. I, too, feel like I've come so far since I've met my sweet little boy. I'm not the same person I was back then and that's a good thing. I also have to say ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You walked along the PCH? I'm supremely jealous! Do you know where we get to walk? Oh wait, we CAN'T walk because there are still piles of snow on the ground. Reading about your stroll practically had me drooling! I have absolutely no idea why I live in Minnesota. I get the same looks from people because I also look like I'm a teenage mother.
