The Big Day is Near
It seems like just yesterday that Jennifer and I discovered that we
will bringing a second child into this world. How time flies when you
are anticipating something that you know will change your life forever.
Many people ask me if I am ready and to that, I usually reply “Are you
ever ready?” After thinking about this question some more, I realize
that I am ready. Ready to see my handsome little boy. Ready to teach
him that although his life will have many ups and downs, he should
truly appreciate every second he has in this world. It is ironic that
I would be teaching him this, when it was in fact him who taught me.
My wife has always told me not to always postpone things I want to
accomplish till tomorrow. These words usually fell on deaf ears, as I
have always lived my life like there was another day. Whether it was
something small like waiting an extra day to pay the bills or waiting
too long to go on our honeymoon, which resulted in her traveling all
around Europe while five months pregnant, I always had some excuse. I
guess there’s nothing that can truly change your mindset like finding
out your son will be born with a life threatening illness.
I don’t know what to expect when Baby Justin arrives, but what I do
know is that he has already changed my life forever. And for that I am
truly greatful.
